New POS System Idea Backfires

Over the past few months we've been gathering up equipment to upgrade the store into a new Point Of Sale (POS) System. I figured it wouldn't be that bad and be great for business, keep track of what comes and goes easier etc... But, it seems as though it would be more trouble that it's worth. POS System's rely on barcodes in order to be useful to the system. There are many items in the store which cannot have barcodes and it appears these items would be too much trouble to pursue alternative methods of scanning them into the system when a customer is checking out. I've exhausted a lot of time and money into this venture and as it turns out, it was a bad idea from the start. Does anyone need some POS equipment?

New Lottery Game

Arkansas starts a new lottery game on May 3. Decades of Dollars. Only 4 states participate in this game, so the odds are really good to win something. store anniversary

today Ark-La Outdoors turned 24 years old. I want to thank all the customers that have been there for me all these years. I have seen so many kids grow up and now bring their kids in to shop. Thanks everyone

Overhauling the site.

Within the next few days I will be undergoing a major overhaul on the site. Visually you may not see any difference, but I'm going for performance. This means going through every bit of coding that I did before when I built it and then cleaning it up. I'd like to also move the Albums area into the main page of the site. So if you are browsing around and notice it's lagging or shoots off an error. That's probably me playing. Please report any errors here. Thanks.

Conway Days Bass Tournament

Today was the Conway Days Bass Tournament. 30+ fishermen battled the wind, pollen and whitecaps to secure their success in the tournament.

New Item

We have new Yo-Yo's in that are made by H & H. They are just like the White's yo-yo's except they have reflection on each side and tarred line on them. The feed back so far is they love them.

KRMD ad on the Radio

There's suppose to be a KRMD ad on the Radio for Ark-La Outdoors. If you hear it come on in and tell us ya did!

Blog settings done.

Well, I've spent the better half of 6 straight hours working on this blog layout and color scheme. I'd like to hear your comments and suggestions about it.

Just installed a Blog

Just installed a blog on the site, it's going to take time to tweak it to match. I've delt with other blog software before but this one looks pretty simple to use. The goal of the blog is so that any hunting, fishing, lottery etc... info that we need to post goes here as well as updates to various things.
